The Summit that Defines the Rest

Every climber is measured against this summit. Thamserku Expeditions has been part of its story since the late eighties — long enough to know the mountain on quiet days and hard ones alike.

02 — Overview

There is no rehearsal for Everest. There is only the climb.

Everest rewards preparation, patience, and an operation that has seen the mountain in every season. Thamserku has organised 154 expeditions to Everest since 1988, across the South Col, the North Ridge, and the route's technical variants. The climb follows the South Col line Khumbu Icefall, Western Cwm, Lhotse Face, and into the thin air above 8,000m. That experience shows up in the details: Sherpa leads with decades on this mountain, weather windows read against recorded pattern, acclimatisation paced to the climber, and a Base Camp built to absorb the unexpected. Our work is to make sure the only thing you carry up there is the climb itself.

ROUTE PHILOSOPHY

We climb the South Col route from Nepal — the classic Everest line through the Khumbu Icefall, Western Cwm, Lhotse Face, South Col, and summit ridge.

ACCLIMATISATION CYCLE

Rotations between Base Camp and the higher camps build the body, test the systems, and prepare the team well before any summit push is considered.

SUMMIT WINDOW

The summit window is read in hours, not days. Weather, route conditions, oxygen status, and team readiness decide the move.

08 — FREQUENTLY ASKED — EVEREST

"Quiet answers, before you write to us."

A.01

All applicants must have prior summit experience on a peak of 7,000m or above. Thamserku reserves the right to assess and verify each applicant's climbing resume before confirming participation. Safety on the mountain begins with the selection process.

A.02

All permits, Kathmandu accommodation, domestic flights, approach logistics, Base Camp operations, Sherpa leadership, oxygen, medical support, and communications. What it does not include is reviewed in the tailored proposal, as it varies by edition.

A.03

Thamserku monitors continuous weather forecasting from reliable sources. Summit decisions require consensus and approval from the lead Sherpa team. We do not operate on optimism.

A.04

Medical evacuation protocols are in place from every camp. If a client must descend early, the process is managed with full discretion. Client wellbeing is the first priority.

A.05

Five editions from Alpine (lightweight, self-sufficient) to Definitive (private dining, satellite suite, helicopter access). Editions are parallel philosophies, not a hierarchy. Contact us to find the right fit.
