Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa, the first Nepalese to complete all ‘real’ seven summits

Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa, our honorable chairman, climbed Mount Everest on May 17, 2023 at 7:34 AM. Robert Moracchini from France has also successfully climbed Mount Everest with him. Other team members were Jangbu Sherpa, Pem Tengi Sherpa, and Pemba Sherpa. With this success on Mount Everest, Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa has completed the successful ascent of the highest mountains of the seven continents of the world. He became the first Nepalese Climber who completed all ‘real’ seven summits, including Mount Carstensz’s summit.

Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa was born in Pangom, Ward No. 1, Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, Solukhumbu, and is the husband of the late Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, the first Nepali woman climber of Mt. Everest. Sherpa, who has been involved in Nepal’s tourism business for 50 years, is the founding chairman of Thamserku Trekking, which has earned a reputation in the field of climbing and trekking in Nepal. Thamserku Trekking has been conducting various mountaineering expeditions for a long time and has made thousands of climbers climb the various mountains of Nepal. He is also the executive chairman of Yeti Airlines and is involved in businesses such as hotels and hydropower.

Some of his mountaineering feats include climbing Europe’s highest peak Mount Blanc (1983), Mount Annapurna I (1985), Mount Dhaulagiri (1986), and Mount Thamserku (1987) in Nepal.
